Isaiah Thomas fully committed to Cavs

When Isaiah Thomas first heard that he had been traded to Cleveland he was very upset and emotionally hurt. The team that he had given his all and poured his heart out for had just given up on him. It was like a sucker punch to the gut and unexpected. Thomas played all 82 games for the Celtics last season averaging 28.9 points while leading them to the #1 seed in the Eastern Conference. He lost his sister in a car accident during the first round of the playoffs. He played the very next night after her death. He now understands that it is a business and is reportedly “fully committed” to playing for the Cavaliers and is determined to get back on the court asap. While there is currently no timetable for his return, Thomas has vowed to get back on the court this season and return better than ever. Thomas will arrive in Cleveland on Tuesday to start working out and continue his rehab. He will be working with Cleveland Clinic hip specialist Dr. James Rosneck and Cavaliers team Dr. Richard Parker. Once they see how he responds to the rehab workouts leading up to training camp they will develop a timetable for his return. Training camp opens on September 25th. The best guess at this point for Thomas return is late December to mid January. Derrick Rose will start in his place until Thomas is able to return.
