Cavs sign Derrick Rose

On Tuesday the Cavaliers officially signed point guard Derrick Rose to a one year $2.1 million dollar veteran’s minimum contract.  He is coming off of his best season since 2009/2010 when he won the NBA MVP award.  Last season in 64 games with the Knicks Rose averaged 18 points per game.  He suffered a torn meniscus in the 2nd half of the season but passed his physical and was cleared by Cavs doctors on Monday.  He chose Cleveland over the Los Angeles Lakers because he values winning and playing time over money at this point.  Rose will have the opportunity to start along side Lebron James given the imminent trade of disgruntled point guard Kyrie Irving.  Lebron welcomed Rose to Cleveland via Twitter.
